It’s finally here - meet the brand new POLAR III. To redefine the most comfortable freestyle board we took four years of intensive Research & Development. The all new Tucked Edge provides an even smoother in challenging waters. This new feature combined with the Grip Channels guarantees the perfect take-off on any day out there! Furthermore the POLAR III comes with a new matte and extra resistant surface and a 30% lighter wood core!

The outline of the POLAR III is designed in a way that the board cuts easily through any kind of chop. This feeling of control is enhanced by the new Tucked Edge on the heel side in between the feet and allows the water to partly flow up the rail.

ogether with the Grip Channels the board offers the most reliable take-off in any conditions. The combination of Grip Channels, Tucked Edge and our outline design allow you to load up that edge just a little extra. The best way to boost into a new record heights!

The ultra light wood core combined with the 3D Top Deck provide very defined feedback to the rider. So no matter if you just want to comfortably cruise or add some rotations after your dark slides, the new POLAR III will feel even lighter and more responsive on your feet.

Like all its predecessors the POLAR III has a uniquely soft flex pattern and probably provides the smoothest landings on the market. The Anti-Negative Flex stringer made from flax fibre prevents the board from tip diving. A feature still unique to KOLD shape, which allows you to land full speed after a huge kite loop.

The softer flex furthermore allows the board to slightly flatten when riding. Combined with the Double Concave this gives the board outstanding planning and upwind abilities. However when jumping into toe-side or carving the rocker springs slightly back. That’s how the board becomes so playful and manoeuvrable!

The black POLAR III now comes with orange rails for best visibility in rough conditions. Both designs have a new matte surface and an extra resistant bottom foil. Furthermore we have slightly adjusted the stance to guarantee extra comfort and control on those long days out there.

Of course, the POLAR III stays true to our philosophy. Crafted in Europe from a wood core and flax fibre, its production is fully CO₂-compensated and packaged in an environmentally friendly way using cardboard and wood. The POLAR III is based on a CNC precision milled Paulownia WOOD CORE which is around 30% lighter. This lighter core combined with the 3D TOP DECK makes the board even more responsive and invites you to go for your next Freestyle move! Furthermore the light WOOD CORE perfectly supports the flex pattern through the board.

We are proud to introduce the TUCKED EDGE. The POLAR III now has a rounded edge between the heels, which leads to a water flow up and around the rail. The heel side of the board now sits deeper in the water and leads to a smoother ride and an even more defined take-off!

Our aim is to design the highest performing boards and reduce the impact on our planet at the same time. We believe that many of Mother Nature ́s materials such as flax and organic resins actually enhance the performance of our products. In addition all the CO2 emissions that occur during the production of our boards are compensated by wecologic.

The FLAX FIBRE used in the board is a sustainable and cellulose based composite, which is highly efficient at the same time. Not only does it reduce the carbon footprint of the board but also adds special mechanic properties compared to carbon or glass fibre. During our R&D work we designed different stringers to support the flex pattern for heavy landings.

The new DOUBLE CONCAVE offers even more grip during turns, take-offs and landings. Furthermore it provides extra grip when launching into flat spins of a kicker wave and enhances early planing!

The stringer made out of FLAX FIBRE runs from tip to tip across the whole deck and minimises the negative flex of the board. The stringer prevents tip dives when landing with lots of speed and is a  highly proven feature of the KOLD shapes boards. Actually this is why the POLAR III can provide so much flex and still offer perfect landings for your freestyle game!

The GRIP CHANNELS integrated into the DOUBLE CONCAVE and the tips allow you to fully control the edge at any time - even when launching completely overpowered into you next personal record! The extra grip enhances upwind abilities and ease even the fastest landings.

The 3D TOP DECK construction minimises the weight but also provides extremely precise flex. Combined with the new LIGHT WOOD CORE & FLAX FIBRE the POLAR III offers super soft landings and maximum comfort at high speed due to its unique flex pattern.

We added a slightly more CONTINUOUS ROCKER than the usual freeride board. This is what provides the POLAR III with the softest landings and eliminates any spray potentially hitting your eyes. Furthermore it adds manoeuvrability and smoothens the ride in choppy conditions!

The RATCHET BINDING is the easiest system to adjust while riding. The ratchet allows you to tighten or loosen the strap within seconds! To maximise the comfort we equipped the inside and edges of the strap with MEMORY FOAM. 

The AIR DAMPENING system integrated into our RATCHET BINDING pads is designed to absorb any shock while landing! The air cushion sits underneath and around the heel to offer maximum comfort - no matter if you are landing megaloops or simply ride in choppy waters. To further enhance a perfect stance we equipped the pads with a grippy 3D surface. The TOE RIDGE presses your toes towards the MEMORY FOAM of the binding.

Perfect fit for every size! With two velcro straps and adjustable width, these European-made pads deliver comfort and control. The baseplate lets you fine-tune heel position and stance angle for your ideal personal setup. The adjustability fits perfect to any kind of feet and riding style from cruising to board-offs.
